Mailbag
Welcome to the Mailbag, where your questions
get answered... Or at least some of them, anyway. If you've got something
that hasn't been posted before, than this is where it can happen. Unanswered
questions is the main focus, but I receive practically everything, from
facts and findings, to codes and creations.

Holiday
Visitors...
As we learned from James Bond,
Christmas (usually) only comes once a year... The Mailbag usually
arrives once a month, and it's much more pleasant than other unwelcome
holiday visitors... Especially when some of them just won't leave.
The aim of the Mailbag is to leave no stone unturned, in a quest
for the missing pieces from the gamesites... Along with a bunch
of random stuff that I found in my mailbox.
If you've come up with a question or comment while visiting the
website, you can send it to:

Do
you know what ship the frigate in Goldeneye (the game)
based on?
I've tried searching for this ship for almost 2 days now. It's not
F710 "la fayette"
That's a good
question... I don't know if Rareware modeled the ship after the
one in the Goldeneye movie, or whether they used an entirely different
source for the design. I'll post your question, in hopes that someone
out there might have an answer...

I
don't know if you have already seen Marth's translations from Super
Smash Bros Melee, but here they are.
For his taunt he says, "Minna, miteite kure!" which means,
"Everyone, look at me!"
For his B victory pose, he says, "Boku wa makeru wake-ni wa ikanainda!"
which means, "There's no way I can lose!"
For his Y victory pose, he says, "Konkai wa boku no kachi da
ne?" whcih means, "Doesn't it seem that i am the victor?"
For his X victory pose, he says, "Kyou mo ikinobiru koto ga dekita."
which means, "Today, I have survived."
These are pretty cheesy, except the last one. I hope I helped.
That's pretty
cool. Thanks for sharing. Although some of the lines might seem
a bit corny, there are so many foreign expressions that lose their
effectiveness in translation... And the same is true when English
sentences are converted to other languages.

Hey
since the Nintendo Revolution will have backwards capability with
all Nintendo 64 games and they will be improving graphics and some
of them might have online play do you think Goldeneye 007 is
going to have online play?? I would like to know.
The thought
of online Goldeneye 007 is a cool concept... But sadly, I can't
really it becoming a reality. Games that are released for the Revolution
will be specially designed to incorporate online play, but it's
a feature that did not exist when Goldeneye 007 was originally released...
So the programming in the actual game itself would probably to be
changed, which would mean the game would need to be redone just
to allow it.
So even though Goldeneye 007 may never be available for online play
on the Nintendo Revolution, the Goldeneye team at Free Radical Design
are sure to come up a new game that plays and feels like this classic
favorite.

On
Super Smash Bros Melee on event match I cant get any
higher matches than 30.
Why cant I get more.
Certain characters are featured in the
later matches, and you need to have unlocked some of them before
the Event Match challenges will open up. You'll need to find some
of the Hidden
Characters first, as well as complete the Event Matches that
you already have access to.

I was just wondering: In Perfect Dark, were
Maians in more missions than before? I've seen a video from
Rare that shows Maians in the dataDyne building, and even
the beta Skedar mission. You can tell it's not multi player
by the way the Maians hold the guns and how the crouch when
they shoot.
p.s. the tape showed ALOT of Maians on Jo's team
|
Many beta videos for Perfect Dark show characters that seem completely
out of place. As far as I know, these characters were just being
temporary used as placeholders. In this screenshot, Joanna Dark
is killing Trent Easton... It's not really the Easton character
though, just his image model used in the place of a guard.
As for a legion
of Maians following Joanna around in the Skedar, I'm pretty sure
that one was from Multiplayer... At least if it's the same video
clip that I'm thinking of. The way that CPU characters hold their
guns and behave might have been changed slightly before the game
was released.

Hey, I'm a visitor of your site and was
wondering do you ever come on MSN? I really would like to talk to
you. Thx
I haven't chatted
in ages... I spend entirely too much time in front of a computer screen
as it is. Nonetheless, I still make the effort to sit down at my home
computer at the end of the day to work on Detstar-related stuff, but
rarely anything else... I hardly even surf the net anymore.
If you have something to ask, it's just easier to send it to me via
e-mail. That way, your message will be there whenever I have the time
to read it. |
i
know there is a action replay cheat (debug mode) for Super
Smash Bros Melee where you can be giga bowser, master
hand, wire frames etc. and i want to know how to control the
master hand and crazy hand because every time i enter the arena
i press buttons and nothing happens.........they both just sit
there.
It seems that you can only control Master Hand or Crazy Hand
when you have a controller plugged into the 3rd of 4th socket
of the GameCube system. Before you start your game, make sure
you head into "Kind Select", and set Player 3 and/or
Player 4 to "Human" instead of "CPU". |

Sup
Deterest
I was playing Perfect Dark last night and I
came across a funny glitch. In the Carrington Institute room
where you do the gadget training, when you're using the gadgets,
I noticed that you could punch and in my frustration for the
IR scanner glitching up the game, I punched the retarded lady
and pc guy and they just bob back and forth. They're like
punching bags lol. Great way to vent your anger, works WAY
better than stress ball in my opinion.
Stay cool Det
Those CI Employees can sure take
a beating... And since they don't fight back, they're easy
targets. It's also fun to waste the guy in the firing range
with the crossbow. I hope these people are paid for putting
up with all of our abuse. Besides, those puny little stress
balls are no match for simulated violence...

I think it's a tad disgraceful that you
don't have anything to make note of remembrance day on November 11.
Also when looking back through the updates I noticed you didn't say
anything about September 11. This confirms my belief (and many others)
that a robot writes these pages. A robot cannot feel emotion and therefore
cannot sympathize with the rest of humanity.
While both of these dates are a very important
and symbolic part of our history, there are many dates on the calendar
that could be recognized as well. In December alone, we have the December
7th attack on Pearl Harbor, and December 26 will be the one year anniversary
of the Tsunami in Southeast Asia. The constant sacrifice and suffering
of the human race is never-ending, and it's a constant reminder that
all of us should be thankful so long as we're healthy and breathing.
Due to the violent nature of the games featured here, it would be
a bit out of place to announce anniversaries that pertain to death
and violence. It would almost be like rockstar Bono trying to end
world hunger while eating a big dinner in a fancy restaurant... |
I
have a question about a shortcut on the Aztec level in Goldeneye.
I saw a video clip of someone playing this level on TV and in the
black computer room, somehow they got the guards to open the locked,
glass doors without having to get the key card from Jaws. Do you know
anything about this?
Although I don't recall seeing that particular video clip, I do know
that guards will often open locked doors when Bond is Invisible. As
they frantically run around in circles searching for you, they'll
sometimes cause a door to open... Even ones that require keycard access. |

An
apparent"Christmas Card" that appeared in my mailbox...
How incredibly creepy. I don't trust that Santa for a second. If
I'm not mistaken, it says "A Good Fuck to All"...
I won't be able to get to sleep on Christmas Eve now... I'm gonna
stay awake with the gun instead.
