Mailbag
Welcome to the Mailbag, where your questions
get answered... Or at least some of them, anyway. If you've got something
that hasn't been posted before, then this is where it can happen. Unanswered
questions is the main focus, but I receive practically everything, from
facts and findings, to codes and creations.

Hey
Det I found something online where the producer of Super
Smash Bros Brawl has announced that many characters
from Melee will not return, and Ice Climbers and Mr. Game
and Watch are the two characters most likely to get kicked
off. He also said that there would be 2-3 non nintendo guest
stars, Snake being one of them. There are also rumors about
Wind Waker Link replacing Young Link, and Baby Bowser/Bowser
Jr. also being added to the list.
Anything is still possible at this point, because only a few
characters have been confirmed so far.

Hey
Det!
I still play my second oldest game Mario Kart 64
all the time and at my friend's house. I use all the gameshark
features in Goldeneye. I found online Magikoopa was once a
character in Mario Kart 64. I was wondering is there anyway
to get Magikoopa with a Gameshark code or debug menu in Mario
Kart 64? Thanks.
PS: Keep adding photos to the Melee submitted
screenshots there pretty funny.
Mario Kart 64 is a kickass game... It's the reason why I decided
that I needed to get an N64.
The character Magikoopa (aka. Kamek) was originally
available as a playable character in Mario Kart 64, but was
eventually replaced by Donkey Kong before the game was finished.
I recently received an ingame screenshot of MagiKoopa racing
on DK Parkway... Which seems a bit unusual if DK shouldn't
have been in the game at the time... Nonetheless, I haven't
been able to find any evidence that this screenshot is fake...
Except for the stars on MagiKoopa's cloak, which may have
been added simply for detail. Something does seem fishy though,
and MagiKoopa's cloak looks a bit too blue...
I personally haven't heard of any Gameshark codes that can
reactivate Magikoopa... I've taken a quick look with my Gameshark,
... That certainly doesn't mean that MagiKoopa can't be hidden
in deep within the game's memory... Goldeneye 007 has been
a real field day for hackers, and things are still being discovered
today.

I
saw some pics of Super Smash Bros Brawl and
one of them was... a huge puppy?! Wii the heck would there
be a HUGE puppy there? A small one, possibly if this Smash
game is trying to funny like EarthBound. A HUGE one overlapping
the battle? Wii?!
it's the Microsoft, err... Nintendo dog! Who likes Microsoft
consoles! Yeah! That's right! I lead a strange life...
Pets always seem to jump at your
TV screen when you're playing games... From what I understand,
that giant Nintendog will somehow be related to an item during
battle... In Melee, there were a few Pokémon that changed
the lighting to block out visibility... Perhaps it's the same
idea with the dog,
As for that damned Microsoft dog, he digs and digs, and never
finds what I'm looking for. I'm tempted to have him put down...
In fairness, I do have a gazillion files on my hard drive.

Hey
man,
I come to point out something to you, something that I found
very interesting in Goldeneye 007. The Ruger BlackHawk
Magnum, which was originally listed as just that in the beta
stages, is actually blued steel, which appears as a black color.
Rare must have been thinking of the RedHawk or Super RedHawk
magnum, which appears nickel-plated, like in the game. Just
thought I'd point this out.
|
Nothing
is ever 100% accurate in a game, especially when a gun is made
out of polygons. The team may have used several different photographs
to come up with a final design for the gun to be featured in
Goldeneye 007. The game's memory makes reference to the "ruger"
Magnum. And may since the "Cougar Magnum" technically
doesn't exists, they might have chosen to simply pick the features
that they liked best when designing the look for the Magnum. |
|
Dear Detstar,
I have a few questions:
You
said you want Krystal Fox, Kamek, a Fire Brother, and Morton
Koopa Jr. maybe in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
What stages for THEM do you want?
|
Some
cool battle stages for Super Smash Bros Brawl could be an actual
Doom Ship, instead of the happy friendly aura of Rainbow Cruise...
Maybe a duel inside the dungeon of a creepy Koopa castle?
Or even a desert wasteland with an unforgiving sun and treacherous
quicksand...

I
think Shiek is transgender: Girl mind, guy body. Do you agree? |
Sheik
is a bit of a girly man... Both in his thin physique, and the
way he screams when he gets killed... But he's just an alter-ego
of Zelda, who is very much a girl. When Zelda transforms herself
into Shiek, it's just a really clever disguise because she needed
to hide herself in Ocarina of Time... And pretending to be a
man while helping Link on his quest enabled Zelda to disappear
almost completely. |
Will
there be a sequel to Agent Marley? |
Agent
Marley will return... When and where exactly, is another
question. I have written a number of scenes and drawn
up the characters for a possible sequel... The only things
I'll confirm right now, is that Hilly Hummer will be back...
And so will Marley's girlfriend Skye, starring as the
lovely Agent Rosebush.

Samurai
Goroh, Wolf O'Donnel, Captain Olimar, and Waluigi are ones I
want to see in SSBB. Good website. 2 thumbs up.
I think Samurai Goroh could be an interesting
character... Wolf O'Donnel would only be cool if they somehow
found a way to make him different than Fox, so he's not a Fox/Falco
clone. Captain Olimar has been mentioned by a few fans, and
so has Waluigi... But most people seem to agree that Wario is
a better choice than Waluigi. |
|
do
you think sonic will make an appearance in Brawl
because those were the most impressive fake screenshots I have
ever seen.
Impressive fake screenshots mean nothing... Although Nintendo
hasn't completely ruled out the possibility of adding new characters,
the inclusion of 3rd party character Solid Snake to the roster
makes it seem as if the inclusion of Sonic (and Tails) isn't
all that far-fetched... I wouldn't bet on it though, but stranger
things have happened. |
hey
look I have never played one of the Metal Gear Games, but Solid Snake
could work. I mean look at Samus, she looks funky in mushroom kingdom
but she worked and as for snake I say lets kill shy guys
|
With
that orange spacesuit, Samus looks out of place anywhere... Especially
as she roasts some flying Shy Guys with her flame cannon. |
if
you would make at least 1 time week your site would be explosive!!!!
(nice web by the way)
Glad to hear you enjoy the website... But it takes a lot of effort
to create anything that's worth looking at. It takes many hours to
write pages, take perfect screenshots, and turn it all into a shiny
webpage.... And while I make every effort to try and get an update
together each Monday, it's not always possible with my schedule. |
|
Not
many people know this, but Metal Gear first appeared
on the NES. And as for his firearms, why should Samus and Fox keep
their pistol and arm cannon? Those are both lasers, which in the
real world, would have the capability to blast right through the
characters.
|
Samus
and Fox do use guns in Melee... But both of them are spaced out weapons,
just like the Ray Gun. These weapons are slightly comical, while conventional
bullets reek of realism. In reality, one gunshot to the head and any
character would be dead... But somehow, the futuristic weapons seem
less real, and less dangerous. |
Your
website is so freak n awesome! I know that SSB Brawl
is coming out 2007 but what is the month & date? Also when is
the Nintendo Wii coming out (including month& date)?
The release date
for Super Smash Bros Brawl is still up in the air, but I believe the
current target date is somewhere within the first six months of 2007.
As for the actual Nintendo Wii system, it will likely be about November
2006, just a month before Christmas. |
|
do
u think it would be awesome to put dexter in super smash bros
brawl?
Sure, it might be cool... But I'm sure
his foul language would make him an unacceptable character... And
Dexter
without swearing is like fishing without beer.
Among his special attacks would be trying
to stab other characters with a broken beer bottle, and giving someone
a wedgie.
