Mailbag
Welcome to the Mailbag, where your questions
get answered... Or at least some of them, anyway. If you've got something
that hasn't been posted before, then this is where it can happen. Unanswered
questions is the main focus, but I receive practically everything, from
facts and findings, to codes and creations.

Helper
Monkeys Ate My E-mail...
After throwing clumps of mail and feces around the room,
the Helper Monkeys have randomly selected some really good questions,
along with a bunch of crap. If you disagree with the Monkey Selection
Comittee, take it up with your local Monkey Congressman. The first
message is about Diddy Kong... Who is coincidentally a monkey. If
that ain't biased, I don't know what is.
Toss your clumps of mail to:

Hey,
I was just reading your mailbag and ive been thinking about
possible characters for super smash bros brawl
lately... and ive been thinking Diddy Kong should most definetly
be in the next one! im surprised he wasnt in melee! Do you
think its possible? He's in mario tennis and mario kart double
dash, and he's been an all star in nintendo for a very long
time.
Diddy
Kong... Not a bad choice indeed.
One strange thing about the character lineup for Brawl, is
that they've only revealed ten characters so far... We know
that there'll be more than that, but what's with all the secrecy?
(A question coming from a particularly vague webmaster...)
The young Kong would definitely be quite agile, and probably
use a cartwheel attack... He could even be armed with Peanut
Popguns... Ideas, anyone? Detstar

(In
Mario Kart Double Dash) I got a new low score of 26
points and still managed to get gold. |
You
didn't by chance try to deliberately beat my "low score"
of 31, did you?
Congratulations, either way. MKDD can be rather unforgiving, and you
normally need every point you can get in order to win.
Snagging the trophy with only 26 points though... I gotta ask - Did
you sabotage another team in order to win? |
Hey
det, I found this pic which is supposed to be the Super Smash
Bros Brawl select character screen. Can you tell me if its
real?
It's fairly impressive, that's for sure.
Someone spent a lot of time with some graphics software to produce
this creative piece of artwork. Diddy Kong is in there, and so is
Krystal Fox.
The "Smash Bros Revolution" is a dead givaway... It does
look believable, but everything looks to shiny and perfect... There's
something fishy about that.
My guess would be FAKE. |
hello
i'm just wondering if smash bros. maybe does tours around
the country. To do competetion here in miami, florida because i would
love to compete. thank you please write back
Tournament information is a fairly common
topic in my mailbox...
A video game doesn't tour in the same way a band does, although it
would be
awesome if it did.
Because people are always looking for tournaments, I'm posting a Tournaments
page on the website. |

(In
Mario Kart Double Dash) You were asking about the
person in the Waluigi Stadium crowd in (front row, second from the
left) who has his hands up in the air. It's a hammer brother.
|
|
This
has been an ongoing debate since the beginning of time... (approx.
2003 A.D)
It's still hard to be absolutely sure, although there are 3 arguments
for the Hammer Brother:
-The skintone
-The apparent Beak
-Lighter belly (possible underside of shell)
I still think
the mysterious crowd figure is the result of Big Bird enjoying a drunken
night of passion with a duck billed platypus... but that's just me.

I
think you should feature super smash bros brawl.
Sounds like a good plan. Of course, I'm
way too paranoid to announce that I'll be covering Super Smash Bros
Brawl... But if you're gonna place a wager on a Detstar Wii gamesite,
then Super Smash Bros Brawl is probably your best bet.

 I
want to see another character in the dexter comics
There are a bunch of existing characters
in the Hellford backstory that have yet to make an appearance in
an actual episode...
Sgt. Smokes, a disgruntled former cop who's turned to crime....
He can connect Dexter & his pals to practically any kind of
contraband material they need. Dirty deeds, done dirt cheap.
There's also Officer Cherry Hill, a serious police officer, who's
all work & and no play... At least when she's on the job, anyway.
She's athletic like her niece Candi, but Cherry actually has a fully
functional brain in her head.

Replace
the zelda (Wind Waker) site with an Ocarina of Time
site
I enjoyed Ocarina of Time so much that
I was obsessed with finding all of the ellusive Gold Skulltula Tokens,
and managed to hunt down every single Poe ghost... I even made a
map and everything. Strangely enough, this was all done before the
idea of Detstar was even conceived...
But although I fully explored the game, I didn't record ALL of the
essential details needed for a gamesite. To do a proper gamesite,
you have to play a game inside and out, to the point that you're
practically sick of the game... At least if you actually want people
to enjoy the content.
Going back and creating content for Ocarina of Time would be a ton
of work, and it hardly seems worth the effort... I'd be much more
inclined to offer coverage of the upcoming Zelda game (Zelda: Twilight
Princess)...

Love
the site, quite possibly the best Goldeneye site ever created.
Part of the purpose in creating the Goldeneye
site was that this great game didn't have a "proper" tribute
on the net. There were several good sites, but most of them were
incomplete... Goldeneye was a game with so much depth, that it seemed
impossible to cover it all... But that's basically what I set out
to do, and the reaction from Goldeneye 007 fans has been overwhelming.
Hope you can take some constructive criticism, I do think
it's inappropriate asking for money for membership.
I used to think it was cheap and crappy when other websites asked
visitors to pay for bonus content... But each of us eventually seems
to turn into what we used to hate. To keep this ever-growing website
up and running, I had to move all the content to more expensive
server, and simply couldn't afford it anymore. The best things in
life sure ain't free... But the majority of Detstar pages are. The
Member pages are simply an extra offer for people who actually want
to help keep the site online.

Thought
you might enjoy the following information.
In Aug 1997 the only game I was looking forward to playing was FFVII
(due out beginning of Sept), so in mid Aug seen an Ad for pro-orders
of a game called Goldeneye - so I thought "what the hell, there's
still two weeks before FFVII , I got the time".
I first heard about Goldeneye from a dude
at school... "Goldeneye? What the hell is that?"
As soon as my cousin bought it, I tried it, and was hooked.
|
So I payed the $10 pre order (got the
key chain to prove it), pick the game up Monday Aug 25, 1997 and played
it for 2 straight years. To this day, I've yet to finish FFVII :-)
A testament to the awesome power of Goldeneye
007...
I never knew that there was a bullet keychain promo for Goldeneye.
I wish I could have gotten one...
Although I must say, the bullet looks much more menacing in the ad. |
|
Walmart's
ad for the week Goldeneye was released, give you an idea of the
original cost (Canadian Price). Check out the price for Doom64 -
$126.97 !@@!
Well I hope you enjoy a walk down memory (Goldeneye) Lane. Take
what you want and keep up the great site
$126.97 for DOOM? That's nearly as much
as the N64 system itself. That's supply and demmand for ya...
Who could have predicted that this unknown
"Goldeneye" game would outsell and outlast "DOOM
64"?
Thanks for
sending these scans. It's really interesting to step back 9 years
and have a look at this stuff.

(in
Super Smash Bros Melee) How do you get Peach without
her dress?
Just buy her a few drinks, and tell her
how pretty she looks...
While using Debug Mode code for Super Smash Bros Melee, you can
skirt the issues by pressing up (taunt) on the control pad, which
will toggle Peach and Zelda's dresses on and off.

why
did you call your site detstar??? you should have just called it "crap"
or something like that...
Much to my disappointment,
Crap.com was already taken. If you think coming up with an available
domain name is easy, think again. I should have just called this place
KissMyAss.org |

Is
there a fast way to get your KO total up in Super Smash
Bros Melee?
Just lock yourself inside, and say
"to hell with work and school!".
Long after you've been fired and/or expelled, you should have
a rather impressive KO count.
For best results, crank up the damage ratio, and play against
lightweights - They're easier to knock out of the arena.

PLEASE
UPDATE!!! Please, detstar cartoons are the best thing on the internet!
They keep me alive!!!!!
If Detstar Cartoons
keep you alive, then you're one sick individual... I like it.
Before you gnaw off your left arm, here's a quick little something
that I've been working on.
You might not be alive much longer if you stumble into Freddy's Kitchen... |

(in
Super Smash Bros Melee) Can u unlock Wario,Raichu,Igglybuff,Giga
Bowser,Crazy Hand,and Master Hand?Cause I tried getting Wario
from an internet cheat, but I was mad when I did EXACTLY everything
it said but didn't work.I worked hard as hell for it!!So can
u?
No, no, no, no, No, and NO!
It's no wonder I've gone insane... I'm really enjoying these
cool new padded walls though. They keep me safe, and tell
me that more characters are coming... But until that happens,
the only Smash characters you can unlock are shown on the
Hidden
Characters page. Go there right now, or the fuzzy monsters
will eat your hands! GO!

Quit
your job, and update more often
Dude, that sounds like so much fun! I wish
I lived on your planet...
Where the hell are you from, anyway? |
