Mailbag
Ah, the joys of answering e-mail. Actually,
I wouldn't wish this task on my worst enemy. So many questions, so little
time... I do answer as many e-mails as I have time for though, and I've
posted a few of them below.

Once
again, it's time to offer responses to all the questions that have
been sent in... Well, at least a few random ones that I feel like
answering...
Those diligent little helper monkeys have been frantically running
around sorting mail, and deciding what should be posted here. Apparently,
even monkeys have their limits. After only several months of being
here, some of them snapped, and couldn't take it anymore. Maybe it
was the stress of an insane work environment... Or maybe monkeys just
aren't cut out for these mind-numbing tasks... Either way, it's back
to the old drawing board to find another cheap labor alternative... |

When
I go on your Perfect Dark website, I don't see gameshark
codes. In goldeneye, you have many gameshark codes and it's very
usefull, why not with Perfect Dark. If you make some gameshark codes,
tips and warnings on your PD website, it could get more people and
this website will be a good reference on gameshark codes.
Basically, the reason why I've done so much more Gameshark stuff
with Goldeneye than with Perfect Dark, is because using a GS with
Perfect Dark is a pain in the ass...
For
Perfect Dark to work with a Gameshark, there's the keycode issue
where you need to keep switching games. And unfortunately you need
at least a Gameshark version 3.3 plus a bunch of activation codes
to play the games missions. If you have version 3.2, you can only
play Multiplayer. I myself only have version 3.2, which has really
limited what I can post regarding Gameshark codes and Perfect Dark.
Just for fun, here's
a snapshot I took a long time ago from Perfect Dark's combat simulator.
Using Gameshark codes to use the 007 weapons, to create a classic
deathmatch.

It's
quite obvious REAL Super Smash Bros Melee people do not check out
your website. capt falcon and jigglypuff and all the hardcore characters
were not even chosen as any favorites. anyways your site is still cool because
it focuses just on melee though. well its been a long time since melee came
about but me and my friends have to start our weekly ssbm weekend tournament
here in west palm beach fla.
It doesn't matter how old a game is, so long as it's really fun to play.
Melee is one of those few games that you can keep playing again and again.
What actually defines a "hardcore" character is beyond me... Everyone
is going to find certain characters that work best for their individual
style. If you're going by the characters that require the most practice,
some of the 25 characters are difficult to master, while other characters
are easier to learn. Strong arguments for toughest character to master could
be made for Bowser, Ness,
Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, and of course
Mr. Game & Watch.

After
you beat Aztec and Egyptian in Goldeneye, it shows two extra
characters in the intro (where it shows the characters. Like "Starring
007 James Bond".) Well, it shows mayday. it also shows jaws. Jaws
goes with Aztec and Mayday must go with Egyptian!!! MAYDAY WAS ONCE
IN MISSION MODE!!!
And you came to that conclusion how? At one point in time, I'm sure
most Goldeneye fans believed that these two villains were indeed
hidden somewhere. They definitely are in there as "guest stars"
since they're available as bonus characters for Multiplayer. But
as for the one player missions, they just don't seem to be there.
Don't you think after all these years, someone would have found
them by now?

I
have all the trophies in Super Smash Bros Melee except Capt.
Olimar (289 trophies). I know no-one who has Pikmin and i can't
rent it from anywhere, and i'm not really interested in buying the
game. My friend told me that he somehow got that trophy without
Pikmin save. He said he was playing adventure (or classic can't
remember). Is it anyway possible to have this trophy without the
save?
Hmm....
Get your friend to show you the Captain Olimar trophy in his gallery...
I can guarantee that he'll make up some story about how Captain
Olimar was there before, but somehow got magically erased. Having
a game save file with Pikmin is the intended way to get the Captain
Olimar trophy, although you can also unlock it (as well as a few
other secret trophies) with an Action Replay cheat device.

Ok
I love the All Bond cheat on the Goldeneye website, but is there
anyway to get a "character" code for Lazenby and his pic though?
Getting the character select photos for the old Bonds is one of the many
amazing things that can be done with a Gameshark. However, Gameshark codes
can only modify things, and replace them with things that are still inside
the game's memory. Goldeneye's memory holds photos of Connery, Dalton,
and Moore... But unfortunately, George Lazenby isn't one of them. So because
there's no photo of Lazenby to be found, he can't be added to the character
select screen.
Eventually finding George
Lazenby in Goldeneye shouldn't be completely ruled out though... Check
it out, as SubDrag shows you an amazing new project here: http://www.rarewitchproject.com/specials.php?id=007facemap
I believe that Sonic and Tails are characters
in Super Smash Brothers Melee because I have them. I beat 25 people
in Cruel melee using Roy's up +B move, and I was challenged by them. I am
not the only one who has gotton these characters, alot of my friends did
too. Sometimes it might not work in cruel melee, but if u play alot, they
might come and challenge you. They act like the ice climbers and try to
stick together.
Really now...
I suppose you'll be more than happy to send in some digital pictures of these two legendary characters to prove this fact...
Let me guess... Your digital camera is broken, and none of your friends
have cameras? Figures... That's the case with everyone who's unlocked
Sonic and Tails. Talk about bad luck...

just wanted to tell you that in your Goldeneye screen shot
gallery the pic of the guard surrendering is FAKE. None of the guards
surrender in goldeneye they only do it in PERFECT DARK. it looks
like a very good edit cut and paste job and i know its not real.
Cut and paste? Not likely. I took this
screenshot myself, so I can assure you that it's not a fake. It
was however done using Gameshark codes, because as you mentioned,
the guards in Goldeneye 007 don't surrender... Until now.

Hey do you have msn? add me easier to talk together...
Most people say your gonna be number 1 i don't think so... You have some
spellings words Wrong and can you better the Perfect Dark mission
walktrough to Agent, Special Agent, and Perfect Agent I'm most searching
out which the Complete mission's on any level it's ... I swear it's Easier..
you have only to do copy Text and make a link from Agent Etc.... Understand?
I hope so
In a world where time is money (and I have neither of the two), it's
a bit of a time-waster to create separate walkthru pages for every single
difficulty level, because the individual mission format doesn't change.
As the walkthru page states, the pages were designed for Perfect Agent,
that way the walkthrus offer a complete overview of everything found in
the missions. If it's so easy to just copy the relevant text, then feel
free to go ahead and make your own custom walkthrus for Agent and Special
Agent for your own reference.
As for any spelling errors you've found on the website, these things do
happen... In the future though, you may want to proofread your own e-mails
(for spelling, grammar, sentence structure AND comprehension) before complaining
about a few typos.

When I first saw your Goldeneye site I almost over looked
it, but when I did enter it I was taken by surprise. Every thing
I learned about the beta version I learned from this site. You have
single handedly combined certain aspects of what interests people
(beta version/mysteries/screenshots) and roll them all into an attractive
layout, taken all together and organized it into the perfect site.
Spending long hours of hard work into noticing every little detail
from the skulls on the hats of Goldeneye guards to the the one spelling
mistake in perfect dark. After spending days looking for sites of
equal value none came even close. I find myself visiting on your
site, games that I don't even have because the information is so
interesting and extensive. You have a talent of taking information
and making it interesting to even the most bored people. For example
most sites just give a chart of cheats for perfect dark. But yours
gives pictures, by type, and just about everything else. You have
out done yourself to some this is just another website but for me
it goes so much deeper. Amazing... Simply amazing... Thank you for
reading this e-mail and keep up the good work.
It's quite possible that I've gone overboard trying to cover some
of this stuff, but fans of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark don't seem
to mind. Quite the opposite in fact, considering that some people
say they've spent weeks browsing all of the content.

Excellent work with your site. A while ago,
I asked you this before. How can you be able to respond to day-old mail,
but not old ones? Don't want to accuse you or anything, of course...
You need to understand that I have several thousand
messages in my mailbox, with hundreds of new ones arriving every day...
So as more new mail floods it's way in to the top of my inbox, older messages
get pushed further and further down to the bottom. So don't be surprised
if a new message gets a reply before an older one. And of course since I'm
just one person, there's no way that I could ever possibly reply to everything
that gets sent in.

This is a cool trick for Goldeneye.
If you shoot the ammo boxes that are lying around, they will
double. You can repeat this process.
I'm not sure if that's a hidden secret
that the programmers threw into the game, or whether it's
some sort of glitch. It's been a while since I tried it out,
but if I remember correctly, the amount of ammo you collect
actually gets cut in half when you split the ammo boxes in
half...

In Super Smash Bros Melee, why does it say "2L84ME"
(Too Late For Me) on the bottom of the barrel cannon trophy? Why
did they put it there and what on earth does it mean?
Yeah, I know it's a rather odd detail to
find on the bottom of a barrel... Perhaps it was a message left by
a designer who was on his last day at the company after learning that
he'd just been fired... Anyone's guess could be right about something
this unusual. |
