Twist Road

This
basic track will accustom you to the realm of F-Zero racing.
It features only a few Dash Zonesand no obstacles, and
has extremely large Pit Zones. |
|
(1)
There are two Pit Zones on this curve, but you'll
waste time covering more track if you take the outside.
The inside is the best way to go.
|
(2)
After the big loop, two Dash Zones appear on
the center of the track. Hit them and blast off! |

Split Oval
|
This
straightforward track will test your ability to navigate
a track while soaring at insane speeds. Make sure to hit
as many Dash Zones as you can, especially on the first
lap. |
|
(1)
On the left of this fork is a Pit Zone, while
the right features several Dash Zones. Take the right
on the first lap, and on the second lap as well if your
energy reserves are still high. On the third lap, though,
take the Pit Zone so you can boost right to the end.
|
(2)
Don't overdo it here! If you hit a Dash Zone
AND your boost, you risk getting airtime and falling off
the upside down portion of the track. |

The
final Ruby Cup track features 90 degree corners, lots
of air time, and even more Dash Zones. You'll also encounter
several new obstacles which are relatively easy to avoid. |
(1)
On the first lap, head to the left of the jump
and hit the Dash Zone. When you have boost, though, boost
on the jump to soar over the narrow section of track. |
(2)
This 180 degree corner is impossible to take
quickly unless you drift. Hold L and R while turning to
fishtail around the turn. |
(3)
Try to get as much Pit Zone time as possible here,
but don't sacrifice hitting the Dash Zone unless your
machine is extremely beat up. |
(4)
This part can fool many players into crashing.
Start off on the outside of the double turn, then lean
in to the right. |
(5)
Make sure to avoid hitting the dirt. It slows down
your racer significantly. Use the shoulder trigger buttons
to gracefully drift back and forth, hitting the boosters
on this stretch of track. |
(6)
Stick to the center of this stretch to avoid
the land mines, unless you want to risk heavy damage for
the chance that the explosion will propel you faster. |
(7)
Don't do anything fancy around this corner. The
light blue sections of track have reduced traction, and
you may slide into the rail if you steer too sharply.
