F-Zero GX: Custom Racers

Welcome to the showcase of some of the best machines we've created in GX...

For tips on building your machine, check out the Garage Mode page.
To view some of the parts that you can unlock, check out the Custom Parts page.

Custom Racing Machines
Here some of the machines that we've created in GX's Garage mode.

Bright Barrel-Z (Hutz)
C Body: Rapid Barrel
A Booster: Triple-Z
C Cockpit: Bright Spear

This is my ultimate machine, and excels at everything that's important to me in a racer. It has insane max speed, is capable of turning suddenly without losing control, and has a body that can withstand some hits. Another plus is its A-rated boost, which really rockets this baby ahead. Its only drawbacks are slow acceleration and insufficient cornering. The cornering aspect can be fixed by going no higher than 70% max speed on the machine settings screen, as well as learning how to slide and drift effectively, and I just live with the acceleration. Since the Bright Barrel-Z has high max speed and the highest possible boost rating, it blazes by the competition once it gets a chance to warm up.

Wild Lizard (Hutz)
B Body: Wild Chariot
C Booster: Boxer-2C
B Cockpit: Heat Snake

The Wild Lizard is a unique racer that possesses a certain beauty and charm. This vehicle proves that you don't need max speed to win a race. Its good points lie in its high acceleration, quick and tight cornering, and durable body. These stats make it an excellent weapon for destroying opponents off the starting line. Its high acceleration and tight cornering mean that it won't lose much speed around corners, and by the time you leave one you'll have it all back again. Its boost is average, but can be used around corners easily to gain the edge over slower-turning opponents. To avoid losing control and to make sure your max speed is sufficient, set your machine settings to about 90% max speed.

Flame Spider-4X (DetErest)
C Body: Holy Spider
B Booster: Punisher-4X
B Cockpit: Heat Snake

The Flame Spider-4X is a lighter machine, and it handles quite well. The shape of the body looks a bit like a space fighter, and with the Punisher-4X booster, it slightly resembles an 'X-Wing' from Star Wars...

Rapid Vixen (DetErest)
C Body: Rapid Barrel
C Booster: Boxer-2C
C Cockpit: Cyber Fox

This well balanced machine does well on practically every course. It's lighter than most standard machines, so it can take corners with ease. But since it is a light machine, it's not capable of reaching the high speeds that heavier machines can. A setup like this would be a friendly combination of parts for a new driver.

Ultra Coyote-V2 (DetErest)
B Body: Fire Wolf
A Booster: Thunderbolt-V2
B Cockpit: Super Lynx

A heavy machine that looks a bit like a fighter jet, especially in the right shot as it flies off a jump on Big Blue - Drift Highway. It also has the Detstar logo stamped on it, although it's too hard to spot in these screenshots.

Megalo Fighter (DetErest)
A Body: Megalo Cruiser
C Booster: Boxer-2C
C Cockpit: Sonic Soldier

The Megalo Fighter is a very heavy machine with a solid body. It's extremely slow off the starting line, but once it builds up speed, it can easily catch up and pass opposing racers. I built this machine with intentions of creating an excellent destroyer, but it has a few downfalls that make it difficult to perform well on challenging courses. Back to the old drawing board...

Eliminator (DetErest)
C Body: Rapid Barrel
A Booster: Devilfish-RX
A Cockpit: Combat Cannon

As much as I enjoy destroying other machines with my Megalo Fighter, it's a bit too heavy, and doesn't have good enough control. But the Eliminator improves in areas where the Megalo Fighter is lacking, to create the ultimate battle cruiser. It's 2000 kg, and has excellent boosting and handling. I was able to crush 27 other vehicles using the Eliminator on a Master Class Grand Prix circuit. Extreme killing power indeed.

King Neptune (DetErest)
A Body: Grand Base
B Booster: Titan-G4
B Cockpit: Super Lynx

This was the very first machine that I ever created... Since then, I've unlocked countless new parts... But to this day, this machine STILL holds my best personal Time Attack record for the Sonic Oval course. It's a heavy beast, good for smashing other machines, and reaching very high top speeds.

Highway Sword-4X (DetErest)
C Body: Silver Sword
B Booster: Punisher-4X
C Cockpit: Sonic Soldier

This machine was basically created for looks, but it's also a decent ride. It has a bit of an 'evil' scheme to it, with the coloring and the skull... So I chose Deathborn to be the pilot of this evil racer.
