GX: Secret Unlocks

There are many rewards hidden deep within
F-Zero GX. Some of them aren't to hard to earn, while other special features
are granted only to players who prove they are worthy... Better sharpen
your skills to the extreme, because many of these extras won't be handed
to you on a silver platter...

 Diamond
Cup
In Grand Prix mode, complete the
first 3 cups on Standard difficulty or higher to unlock another
set of tracks.
The Diamond Cup offers some of the most challenging courses in the
game.

 Master
Class
In Grand Prix mode, complete the first 3 cups on Expert difficulty
to unlock the Master Class, an even harder difficulty level.

|
 AX
Machine Parts
For every Story mode chapter you complete on Hard difficulty, you'll
unlock a body, booster, and cockpit from F-Zero AX (Arcade Version).
You can purchase them in the parts shop to help build your custom
racing machine.
Check out the list and photos of the AX pieces in the Custom
Parts section.

  AX
Pilots
One new racing machine from F-Zero AX (Arcade Version) will
appear in the machine shop for every Story mode chapter that
you complete on Very Hard difficulty.
After you start
unlocking these new vehicles, the ones you've unlocked will
randomly appear to compete in the Grand Prix mode.

Schneider
Complete Story mode on Normal difficulty, and you'll gain access
to Deathborn's evil cruiser. You can purchase it in the F-Zero machine
shop.

  AX
Cup
If
you manage to complete every cup (including the Diamond Cup) on
Master difficulty, you'll be rewarded with the AX Cup: A set of
tracks from the F-Zero Arcade.
While playing the AX
cup, all 10 of the AX machines will be competing. The other 19 will
be a random selection from the 'older' machines.

 Mute
City: Sonic Oval
By placing first in the AX cup on any difficulty, you'll unlock
the Sonic Oval course. A simple track for all out racing and incredible
speed.

|
 Staff
Ghost
If you set an awesome record on
any course in Time Attack mode, you'll be able to purchase a 'Staff
Ghost' in the Items Shop. You can load a saved ghost by pressing
'Y' on the course selection screen.

 Sounds
of Big Blue
Complete the first 4 cups on Master
difficulty.
'Sounds of Big Blue' will become available in the items shop at
a cost of 99 tickets. When selecting a Big Blue course, there'll
be musical note icon under the track name. Hit the 'Z' button, and
you'll have some remixed F-Zero music while you play the course.
Since the Master class is incredibly challenging, you may prefer
an easier way to unlock this feature... Enter the F-Zero shop, on
the screen where it shows 'Machine', 'Custom Parts', and 'Items'.
Using the d-pad for left/right directions (NOT THE CONTROL STICK!),
enter the following code...
Z, left, right, left, Z, Y, X, Z, left, right, left, right, Z, X,
Z, X, Z.
You'll hear a chime, and then 'Sounds of Big Blue' will appear in
the items shop. This is the only GX button code that I know of so
far. This item is very hard to earn, but you can easily unlock it
with a code. I'm sure there must be other secret codes as well...

 Sounds
of Mute City
After finding out about the code
for 'Sounds of Big Blue', I was sure there had to be other button
codes here as well... There is indeed another code for track music,
this time for the Mute City courses.
Enter the F-Zero shop, on the screen where it shows 'Machine', 'Custom
Parts', and 'Items'. Using the d-pad for left/right directions (NOT
THE CONTROL STICK!), enter the following code...
X, X, X, Y, X, X, X, Y, Z, Z, left, right, left, right, left right.
The 'Sounds of Mute City' code works the same way as the above 'Sounds
of Big Blue' code.

  Character
Videos
If you complete any Grand Prix
circuit on Master difficulty, you'll be treated to a movie starring
your chosen character. Each pilot has their own unique video. The
video will play during the credits, but it'll also be saved. You
can watch it again by entering the Pilot Profiles screen and pressing
'Y'.
