Secret Location...

WARNING
This page contains "spoilers" from Zelda Wind Waker. Screenshots and information here will partially reveal something that happens later in the game, and many players might wish to first experience this on their own games. But if you've finished the game, or are really curious, then certainly read on...

Written by DetErest

After you collect all of the long lost shards of the Triforce, you'll gain access to the long lost Kingdom. It's a beautiful place with some neat details, some of which are explained here on this page. This mysterious area is of course the long lost Hyrule Castle, which has been hidden for years beneath the sea. Now that it's been discovered by our hero in green, it's time to take a tour of this magical palace...

Golden Entrance...
Just inside the main entrance of this castle, is a rounded archway. On top of it, sits a Golden Triforce surrounded by stone triangle shapes on the wall. On either side of the doorway, are two paintings mentioned below:

Pretty Picture
The first picture shows Princess Zelda front and center, presumably with members of the Royal family, or possibly even servants. Regardless of who these characters are, they really seem to resemble the pirate clan that's led by young miss Tetra.

Fit for a King...
To the right of the main entrance is a painting of the King of Hyrule.

Higher Ground...
A view from the upper level of Hyrule Castle. We can see the giant Triforce on the floor, and get a glimpse of the architecture inside the building.

Upstairs...
Walking around the upper walkway, we can have a look at the wooden beams and railings... Also, there's a Golden Triforce symbol on the wall.

Road Downstairs...
Right at the stairs that lead to the basement, Link can see a Triforce design at the base of the Hero of Time Statue.

Dark as Knight...
While down in the basement, these gigantic suits of Knight armor can be seen in a circle, facing one another. They're absolutely enormous compared to the size of our little hero.

Stain Glass Surprise...
Something that was mentioned on the "Interesting Stuff" page, but here it is again... The basement walls are surrounded by stain glass windows, each of which depicts the image of a sage from Ocarina of Time.

Way Out...
Just a look at the castle exit, where we can see more wooden beams, and intricate designs on the pillars and archways. As link puts away his word, it creates what has to be one of my personal favorite Zelda Wind Waker screenshots ever...

Outside...
A shot of the full castle from it's exit. Note the golden ornament on top of the roof, and the green moss on the left. Flags can also be seen, and will be detailed further down this page.

Winged Wonder...
Above the doorway, is a beautiful Triforce surrounded by wings carved into the stone.

Atop The Castle...
The Triforce symbol appears as a golden ornament at the very top of Hyrule Castle.

Flag Day...
As the flags hang down, we can just barely make out the appearance of yet another Triforce.

Green Buildup...
With the castle itself remaining in remarkable shape after all these years, there's this one section of stone that has green moss growing on it. Not sure why it's here, nor why this is the only spot of the castle to have one.

Distant View
Link has a look at the ruins of the old Kingdom, with a few remaining pillars left standing. This view from the castle stairs also has a bit of moss between the cracks.

Canyon
As Link stands on the stairs of the bridge that link the castle to the mainland, we can see the steep canyon in the background with another Triforce flag.

More Ruins...
Looking off in the distance, even more ruins can be seen. There's one structure on the top of the highest hill...

Fallen Over.
By zooming in with Link's telescope, we can see that two of these pillars are still upright, with a top piece still joining them. These pillars also show the growth of moss, just like the single area of Hyrule Castle.
