Once again, a Detstar section showcasing a bunch of miscellaneous tidbits found in a game. A game's programmers will often throw in hidden details and extras for players to find. These extras play no part when beating the game, but they're just included for those who happen to notice them. If you've found something cool that isn't listed on this page, feel free to send it in: DetErest@detstar.com

Tetra's Triforce:
The leader of that band of pirates is always searching for treasure. Inside her cabin, you can find a map of the triangle islands where Link places the legendary pearls. Coincidentally, these islands just happen to be in the form of a Triforce. The programmers also threw in a picture of the Hero of Time. Tiny details like this are fun to discover, and other tidbits similar to these are also found in Ocarina of Time. See further down this page...

Wish Upon a Star...
With all the time that Link spends fighting evil, you wouldn't think that he'd have time to stop and star gaze... But the night sky is home to two real-life constellations. The first one being Orion, The Mighty Hunter. And the second one is none other than the Big Dipper. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any additional star patterns other than these two. Still though, it's a cool detail. Thanks to CommanderJinx for noticing these star patterns.

That's Not My Bag, Baby...
There's something not quite right about the guy who's desperate to get into the Nintendo Gallery near Forest Haven. His craziness aside though, he has a small detail on his pack. There's a small image of an Octorok... Not your standard Octorok though - One from way back in the early days of the NES, from the very first Legend of Zelda game. Thanks to Hutz for noticing this little guy.

On the Walls of Windfall...
The two constellations Orion and the Big Dipper are found in Wind Waker's sky, and they're also found inside a building on Windfall Island... Photographs of these two famous constellations can be seen on the upper floor of the auction house.

Awesome Attendance...
After you get the Octorok in Forest Haven's Nintendo figurine Gallery, you can read information about the creature. The Octorok is the "Winner of the Perfect Attendance Award", and for good reason... These creatures have appeared in every Zelda game, starting back with the original Legend of Zelda for the NES.

Stain Glass Sages:
Surrounding the room where Link recovers the Master Sword, there are stain glass windows. They're no ordinary windows though... Most of them depict Sages from Ocarina of Time. To the left is Link's friend Saria, a girl he knew when he was living in the forest among the Kokiri. To the right is Darunia, leader of the Gorons.

The screenshot on the left shows Princess Ruto, sage of the Water Temple. The right shot is Impa, Princess Zelda's bodyguard.

Shown here is Nabooru, a Gerudo thief. On the right is Rauru, who guards the entrance to the Sacred Realm.

The left window shows the Triforce, while the one on the right depicts a form of Ganon.

Window Watching in Ocarina of Time:
While we're on the subject of windows, I just thought I'd mention these hidden details from Ocarina of Time. Beyond the castle windows where you first meet Princess Zelda, you can spot posters inside the building. There's Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, and even Bowser. Who would have ever guessed that the Hylians were avid fans of Mario games?

Talon, Malon, Mario and Luigi:
Another tidbit from Ocarina of Time, is this hint of the Mario Brothers that can be spotted in Lon Lon Ranch. Talon and his daughter Malon can be seen sporting small Bowser heads on their clothing. And of course, there's the unmistakable similarities that Talon and Ingo the farm-hand have to Nintendo icons Mario and Luigi...
