Dragon Roost Island
Written by DetErest
When
you reach Dragon Roost Island, your boat will speak to you, and present
you with the Wind Waker. After you receive it, head through a narrow
opening in the rocks to find the Wind Shrine. There you'll find what
appears to be two gravestones; one broken, and the other still intact.
Take out your newly acquired item, and you'll be taught how to control
the direction of the wind. |
After learning the Wind's Requiem, you'll need
to speak with the Rito, the bird people who inhabit this island. To get
to them though, you'll need to climb your way up the mountain, near the
spot where you landed on shore.
The path to these creatures involves blowing up giant rocks. You'll also
have to slide your way along a narrow ledge. Eventually, you'll reach a
wooden walkway, with a cave entrance at the end. This is where the Rito
people live.
When
you speak with the Rito, you'll be told about a situation involving
a Dragon, and a young Prince Komali. You're given a delivery bag,
and told to go meet with a young girl named Medli. She's found upstairs,
on the first door you encounter. |
Medli
will give you a letter that you must deliver to Prince Komali. She
also tells you to meet her at the entrance to Dragon Roost Cavern
afterwards. Head downstairs to the main room now. |
The
unhappy prince is found in his room. Downstairs, it's the doorway
to the left of the BIG stack of red crates. The door to his room is
at the end of a long hallway. Give the letter to the prince, and he'll
tell wallow in self-pity for a while. After he's done babbling about
how much his life sucks, head back to the main room. |
The entrance to Dragon Roost Cavern is located
to the right of that big stack of crates. It's the entrance that has a row
of feathers hanging from it. Enter there, and head outside. You'll find
Medli waiting there for you.
Medli
needs a little boost to reach Dragon Roost Cavern. Use the Wind Waker,
and command it to make the wind blow north. Pick up Medli, and walk
over to the platform. While standing on that slight elevation, give
her a good toss towards the top of the bridge. When you're able to
help her fly up there, she'll reward you with a bottle. |
Take the bottle, and scoop up some water from
around the base of the huge rock. Climb up the other end of the broken bridge,
and pour some of the bottled water on the patch of withered bomb flowers
you'll find up there. The flowers will bloom, so now you can use them to
blow up that big rock that's blocking the flow of water. The area will become
flooded, so now you'll be able to reach the other side.
You'll
find a pool of lava that you can't cross. Luckily, there are some
bomb flowers nearby. There are two stone slabs standing upright on
either side of the lava. Each slab has a large green vase in front
of it. Grab the bomb flowers, and toss one into each of the green
vases to cause an explosion. Hit both targets, and the stone slabs
will fall, creating a makeshift bridge for you to reach the other
side. The entrance to Dragon Roost Cavern is straight ahead. |
