Forest Haven

Written by Hutz

Upon landing on the shores of Forest Haven, dock and head up along the path. You'll find a few Boko Babas along the way. Simply cut them up with fancy sword combos and continue forth.

Use the Grappling Hook and swing across the fast flowing river. Hop along carefully and swing across again when necessary, reflecting the Octorok's projectile back at it with your sheild first. The next cave is the main plaza of Forest Haven.

Wade forward through the stream, climbing up the tiny waterfalls. As you reach the main level, the Deku Tree will plead for help with the creatures that are stuck to him. Roll into the tree to shake off the critters and dice them up into pieces. You may have to roll into the tree some more to knock the rest loose.

The Deku Tree will thank you for helping him, and invite you to collect the item upon his tall branches. Use the Deku bulb on the ground to leap up through the air and into another bulb. After doing this with a few more bulbs, you'll land one of the tree's brances. Use the Grappling Hook and carefully swing to the next bulb. Continue on until you reach the branch that contains your prize: the Deku Leaf.

Look for the Korok child standing below you on a far-away platform. Leap through the air and open the Deku Leaf to soar forward and land on the platform, then cut up the grass to refill your Magic meter and exit the main plaza.

Outside you'll see the entrance to Forbidden Woods. Don't attempt to soar directly to it, though. Instead, use the Wind's Requiem to change the wind direction to Southwest, then fly to the platform in that direction.

Now here's the tricky part. First, change the wind's direction to Northwest. You must time your next jump so that you fly straight through the visible thermal current to give yourself an upward boost. Try jumping right as the current becomes visible on the right side of your screen. If you fail, adjust your timing and give it another shot.

Your final obstacle comes in the form of a few Peahats that defend the airspace near the dungeon's entrance. Press whichever button you set the Deku Leaf to when a Peahat draws near, and you'll hit it with the leaf.

Now you're standing at the entrance of Forbidden Woods. For a walkthru of this dungeon, click here.
