The Third Pearl

Written by Hutz

All you need is one last pearl to fulfill the wishes of your boat, and you don't even need to go through another dungeon for it! However, there's still some stuff to be done first.

The King of Red Lions has marked Greatfish Isle on your map, so sail there to find Jabun, the key to obtaining the last pearl. Upon reaching the island, however, you'll see that it's been ravaged by evil minions. Thankfully, though, Jabun fled before the attack, and moved to a cavern on the island where you were born, Outset Island. You can't reach it yet, though, so do what the postman tells you to and head on over to Windfall Island.

Tetra and the pirates know of Jabun's treasure, too, and are racing you to him. The pirates are holed up in the Bomb shop for now, but they locked the front door. Walk around the side of it and sidle across the narrow ledge, then climb the vines on the back of the building and crawl through the tiny hole.

The following cinema shows the pirates robbing the Bomb shop for all of its Bombs, and how they tricked the postman into revealing Jabun's location. Before they go off to collect their loot back at Outset, though, they pirates insist that they stay the night to get some good eatin'. Before they leave, though, you'll overhear a password that can be used to enter their ship, of which Niko has been left in charge. The password is random and different every time you play, but your boat will tell you the password if you forget it.

Go to the area where there's a single tomb stone, where a dancing man in white was found before. From that perch you can jump upon the docked pirate's ship. Enter the ship using the password that you just overheard.

Niko is super happy to see you again, and will put you up to another test of wits; you must swing from rope to rope until you reach the end door before it closes. To finish this quickly, after grabbing onto a rope, immediately hold R, adjust your swing direction, and hold the Control Stick forward until your momentum is high enough, then leap towards the next rope.

Upon completing this task, Niko will reward you with some of the Bombs that the other pirates had just plundered. Tetra now gets in touch with you through the Pirate's Charm, and warns you to hurry on to Outset Island before sunrise, at which time they'll speed past him towards Jabun.

Sail through the dark and stormy night towards the other side of the map. Yes, it's a very long ride, and will certainly last longer than the night. However, upon reaching Outset, you'll realize that the night is surprisingly long...

Before going to Jabun, head back to the forest where you initially saved Tetra. With your new Bombs, blow open the giant rock and jump in the hole, into a Fairy Fountain. The Great Fairy there will give you a wallet capable of holding 1000 Rupees, which is a necessity for this adventure. Before leaving, stick a Fairy in one of your Bottles.

Go back to your grandma's house, where you'll find her alone, asleep, and sad. Stand in front of her and pull out the Fairy. The Fairy will cure her depression and make her happy again. She'll fill your empty Bottle with a special Elixir Soup, which has two helpings. You can only have one Bottle full at a time, though.

Jump back on your boat and sail around the back of Outset Island until you reach a large whirlpool. Use your Bombs to bring out a cannon on your boat, and take aim at the cracked stone wall, starting with the top and working your way down. Keep shooting at the wall until it's fully collapsed.

Inside the cave is Jabun, a giant fish who will grant you the third and final gem that you need: Nayru's Pearl.

Follow the markings on your Sea Chart now and place the three pearls at the statues, each found on it's own small island. This will open up the next dungeon: Tower of the Gods.
